Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Calin leads the Spatial team with a focus on product and business development. He’s been an integral part of the development of iPhone, Apple TV, Airplay and Healthkit at Apple. Prior to Apple, he led product development at Handspring specifically bringing the Treo to market.
Calin co-founded Spatial to bring Michael’s vision of real-time & interactive immersive audio to the world.
Calin’s passion and experience building teams from the ground up at startups or skunkwork projects in a larger company. Combined with his product management, business development and technical knowledge at Apple and Handspring it led him to building Spatial with Michael. Calin can’t wait to bring the soundscapes of Earth to Mars!
Prior to founding Spatial, Calin founded and led core teams at Fitview, Lyve and Podtek. These companies broke ground in software, service and hardware development improving health, lifetime memories and active safety respectively.
Calin spent years at Apple under senior leadership leading product management for software products from inception the world loves today including: iPhone, iTunes Mobile, AppleTV and HealthKit.
Prior to Apple, Calin led a number of the core teams at Handspring that developed the Treo product line. Widely regarded as the archetype of the modern smartphone, Calin led the Treo product management, marketing, carrier relations, business development and developer relations teams.
Calin has a Masters of Science in Technology Management from Pepperdine University and over 45 issued and pending utility patents.

Michael leads Spatial as its founding engineer with a focus on its core technology. He’s been instrumental in production software at companies like Nest, Tellme and Netscape.
Before founding Spatial, Michael was a founding engineer at Nest which was ultimately acquired by Google. Michael helped develop a set of groundbreaking smart consumer products for the home like the Nest Thermostat and helped define the category we know as Home IoT today. Prior to Nest, he was a founding engineer at Tellme Networks, which was acquired by Microsoft. He also has experience in developing tools and technologies for 3D modeling, animation, VR and graphics. Michael has over 35 patents in UI design, streaming audio, smart home optimization and more.
